We are a quiet friendly site located in the village of Kilnsea close to the Heritage Coast and at the base of Spurn Point, a unique nature reserve owned and managed by Yorkshire Wildlife Trust. Driftwood is a small and peaceful tree enclosed site with five hard-standing pitches and electrical hook-ups for tourers. There is also an area for small tents. The site has a clean, modern shower and toilet building with hot and cold water. Within walking distance, (150 metres) is the Crown and Anchor pub which sells excellent home cooked food and real ales and also offers stunning views across the Humber Estuary. The pub is dog friendly. Just before the gateway to Spurn Point is the Yorkshire Wildlife Trust Discovery Centre where you can buy tea, coffees, sandwiches snacks etc as well as get information about the area. There are plenty of dog friendly coastal walks within the area and it is popular with cyclists too. There is easy access for fishing both at sea and along the River Humber. The area is a haven for wildlife and is the mainland's most important site for migratory birds and as well as the many common species to be seen rarities are recorded on a regular basis. The nearest seaside town is Withernsea (10 miles), whilst further up the coast are the Hornsea Free Port (27 miles) and Bridlington (42 miles). In Hull (24 miles) is The Deep, a huge aquarium with over 3,500 species of marine life including sharks and rays. What a gem of a campsite, we absolutely loved our stay at Driftwood (wet, wild and windy though it was!). The campsite (and whole area in fact) is just so peaceful, a lovely little pub serving good food is a couple of minutes' walk down the road and the stunning beach five minutes further on. We loved how small the site was (and the bathroom is great, remember your 50p for the shower!), John was really friendly and helpful. We will definitely be back.

Thanks 👍
Thanks John and mandy.
A Very pleasant stay. The sounds early morning was amazing. I was hearing bird calls that I had never heard before. Thats the beauty of your place right in the heart of a nature reserve. Your campsite is a little Gem and I will definitely be back soon. Thanks for the offer of coffee on arrival. A great bike ride from Hull to your site and a relaxing great stay.

Just spent 3 nights at your lovely little gem of a site (May 2022). Our first time in this area and would love to come back and explore some more. Good facilities, clean, well set up and such a reasonable price. The pub down the road is a bonus and the area is beautiful. Would thoroughly recommend it and stay again.
Thank you, Jenny Mattrick.

Hello, we stayed with you over the weekend (9th July-11th July 2021) not long enough I must say, and cannot praise your site enough, clean and tidy perfect for everything, including the pub 150 yards away. We will definitely be back and will be recommending to friends and family.

We've had a great overnight stay at your lovely site. Particularly liked the toilet facilities and you've thoughtfully put a supply of books and dvds which must be a lifesaver if the weather's not so good. Best wishes and thanks again Neil and Julie Wheatley, Yarm,

Driftwood is a lovely site (and winner of my 'Best Bathroom' award!!). It was amazingly peaceful and I've rarely slept so well camping! The owners were a pleasure to deal with and we felt very welcome. Nice neighbours on the site too!

Small, friendly site with a great location for any keen birdwatcher, or indeed someone just wanting a quiet peaceful hideaway. As soon as we arrived we were offered a hot drink which was a lovely touch and was very welcome before starting to pitch a tent. We stayed for 4 nights and had a pitch with hookup, which incidentally wasn't working on plugging in, this was no problem and was sorted in minutes by John. Shower and toilet is in the same building and, as it got busier I was fully expecting there to be a queue for the loo, no problem there either, the shower was a big unit and cost 50p for a decent amount of time, and the building itself was huge. We will be making a reservation again very soon and no doubt on a yearly basis come September. Lovely place, lovely people and would recommend a visit it anyone, but do it soon as this hidden gem will be found by more people!

We stayed for a weekend and found a hidden gem, this site is only small but absolutely beautiful, we were made very welcome by Mandy and the other campers the moment we got there, we were even offered a cup of tea.........never had that before at any site, very nice.
We loved the area, some really rugged countryside and some very nice quiet beach spots all within walking distance, this place is heaven if you love wildlife, at the end of the day you can have a nice shower in the bathroom which is better than in most posh hotels, it really is a lovely place to camp, the fully enclosed site offers perfect protection if it gets windy, we went in a large tent in strong winds but felt very safe and secure.........overall I would give Driftwood 11 out of 10 it really is that nice.

Just got back from a 2 night stay at Driftwood. Hopefully we will be able to return sooner rather than later. We had changeable weather, most notable was the strong winds - it was the tail end of hurricane Bertha, but still managed to get a couple of lovely walks in. We spent a very enjoyable hour watching a family of seals playing in the surf about half way towards the point. We had a great meal in the Crown & Anchor pub, the fish and chips and the steak pie are legendary! Great site, great hosts, spotless toilet/showers. Thank You - we will be back.

Had a lovely May Day Weekend at this site. Small intimate site with spacious spotlessly clean shower/toilet. Close to Spurn/Kilnsea. Lovely welcoming owners and a little sun trap. Can recommend the Crown and Anchor (walking distance) for food and also the Bluebell Cafe for cream teas :D.
Had a visitor from Australia with us for the weekend who also thought the site and area lovely.

We've done a weekend in early October for the past 5 years or so.
Stuart and Jo have always been helpful and friendly, and have always found a corner for us. Perfect location for both the Point and the Pub. What more could one want. We'll be back this year.

What a 'hidden treasure' - paradise found for us. The site is small and meticulously maintained, with a spotlessly clean shower/toilet.
Owners, Stuart & Jo, are both very friendly and helpful and nothing is too much trouble.
The area is remote but beautiful - twitchers' paradise, and is also ideal for walking and beach fishing.
We are regular visitors and take great pleasure from everything the site, and surrounding area, has to offer.
Very often

Stayed for 3 days. Great location. Owners very friendly and helpful if needed.
Would definitely recommend and Will be returning.

Run by a very friendly couple who tried to help in any way they could to make our visit great. Very cosy campsite, great position for Spurn Head and a quiet, coastal weekend. Local pub and cafe in easy walking distance. Take a washing up bowl if you're in a tent as there are not really washing up facilities.

Would highly reccomend this place , the people that run it were so freindly and helpful, it was quiet which is what I wanted the toilet/shower and wash facilities were exceptional, I stayed there as I wanted to be up with the rising sun at Spurn Point for photos its just on the doorstep, only just found the website hence the review now instead of last year when I stayed, thanks to the owners for your help and hope you will have us back again this year.

Brilliant cs. Very close to pub. Shower on site 50p + toilet free. Electric on site . Very nice owners. We have been about 10 times over the past 2 years. Don’t want to tell too many people as there will be no space for us.
